Stewart Jackson: nannying fussbucket masquerading as a Tory MP

****

Stewart Jackson has been all over the airwaves saying what a terrible thing it would be if gay people could get married. You shouldn't be surprised since he has a less than glorious track record as an illiberal, judgemental and nannying fussbucket. Here he is telling us that the town he represents is a "drunken slum":

"Peterborough is in danger of turning into a "drunken slum" because of the number of open off-licences, says city MP Stewart Jackson. Mr Jackson is concerned that in a mile-long stretch of road in the Millfield area of the city there are more than 30 shops selling alcohol.

Mr Jackson believes there are "too many licensed premises".

Why Stewart do you have such an issue with drinking - you've nailed your colour to the tax on poor people known as minimum pricing and now you think a shop shouldn't be allowed to sell booze because a shop round the corner does? What kind of free market is it that you support? And what sort of message does it send out about Peterborough if its MP thinks it such a dump?

Labour MPs seem to have no problem with claiming their constituencies are drink-sodden slums...

As one of his constituents I have to agree with the title of this blog. The man is a cretin.
